Our headliners Round Table Knights need no introduction, it’s unlikely you went to a festival and didn’t hear one of their colourful house bumpers, whether it was the steel drum banger ‘Calypso’ or gypsy-house anthem ‘Cut To The Top’. They played our first Jackmode vs Pelski night at Counter Culture. Informed by an impeccable and eclectic taste in house music, they’re famed for their lively sets and on-point mixtapes:
Matanza’s famous live set incorporates a collection of South American instruments, including the Colombian ‘Gaita’, ‘Zampoñas’ (big pan flutes), Andean ‘Bombo’, the Dominican ‘Tambora’, bongos, bells and loads of others, mixed with thier laptops and midi controllers. Playing a truly organic version of house and techno, their set will undoubtedly prove to be one of the highlights of the festival. Monkey Safari have really come to the fore over last two years with their party-starting sounds. Their productions revolve around some cheeky soul-sampling – always inventive and fun – backed up by some serious tribalist house beats.
