‘Cubiq‘ are back with their sequential release. It’s another batch of point blank tech house grooves, consisting of steeple jacked minimal grinds, and their trademark throw of interactive spoken lectures. Rubber flexed synths and acidic warbles fill out the stripped down structures, without being tainted by unnecessary excess drone or white spray filter. Tasteful and thought provoking, these boys are on the similar output levels of the Raum Musik collective.
Now it could be deemed presumptuous to infer that personal injury can act as a catalyst for change, however it seems that sometimes an unfortunate incident can often culminate in a new unprecedented creativity. This ranting platform of musical pondering emerged through the result of a near fatal car crash, yes I know, how dramatic? Little did we know that such a calamity would form a fatal on going affair with the dance floor. I’m also quite sure that ‘Mr. Jamie Cubiq’ here, did not foresee that falling off a cliff this summer, could have possibly resulted in plenty of wheelchair bound time to produce a new foray of tunes. (Good to hear your on the mend Jamie – and keep up the fresh moves.)
So once again the unintentional stumble and fall has come up with results. I can’t help but wonder what future fortunes my near death experience will bring – I’ll keep you posted.
