Pelski’s been whoring out the YouCanCallMePelski logo quite a bit lately, but finally we have an actual, exclusive Pelski night. Pelski and a number of friends have put together a small and intimate club night in York. On display is a vibrant array of electro, techno, crunk, and dubstep: the kind of dirty, jump-up-and-down dance tunes you’ll find scattered about your favourite blog. Taking the reigns will be an eclectic range of new and old no-nonsense electro – be it rockin‘ bangers, bouncy hip-hop, baltimore club, dirty dubstep or just hard-hitting bass.
The first DJ to hit the idioteque decks will be spinning pulsing minimal techno and the alluring beats of tech-house. The second and longest set will see a bouncier turn with synthy electro-pop and wonky fidget. Expect to hear an inventive mix of distorted bangers, hip-hop mashups and dirty beats. To finish off the night you’ll see a refreshing mash of grimy, womping dubstep. This is idioteque’s fourth night – each characterised by a vibrant, buzzing crowd, intimate, underground venues and a shared enthusiasm for cutting-edge electro – and within York has garnered a solid reputation as the definitive electro night. Be there: trains from Leeds take only 20 minutes.
