An edit of Arado & Den Ishu’s Moodymann-sampling track repackaged for a hot and sweaty peak-time floor (the Kenny Dixon Jr track in question is ‘Shades of Jae’). Nic Fancuilliu, head-honcho of Saved Records, beefs up the bass pulses and sharpens the rickety percussion with a touch of tech-house bite. There’s a lot of EQ’ing here too, with the bass cut for entire phrases before being dropped back in with full force. A nifty little weapon that retains some of that vintage Moodymann feel.
