I apologise for the lack of mp3 posts from myself. I now can safely say that all degrees/holidays/celebrations are behind me and it’s finally time for me to get back to the unremittingly circular, downright geeky, hermit-like, but not entirely soul-crushing life of the incessant blogger. Without further ado…
Sei A – Paraphaze [pelski highly recommends]{Buy}
This fun tech-houser weilds deep, dubby low-slung bass under the cogent smack of a hefty snare. For an electro-tech take, the D-Unity remix is worth a see-in too. Thanks go to both DJ Neotoric whose mix I found this track and to our friends over at Kidcity for posting it:

Jesse Rose handed out this edit for free, and, although its been around for a couple of months, such a superb freebie is a rarity. This is an edit in the true sense of the word: it’s not much different from the original, it shuffles and shudders forward with greater bounce, perhaps, than the original. Yes there’s a few more beats in there, but the sublime, dreamy essence of the original remains untouched, with it’s searing strings and soothing vocals snips that elegantly fold into one another. The Sleep Less (Night Two) Ep is one of his best releases in a long time, buy it:
Jesse Rose – You Know It (Jesse’s Made To Play Edit) [pelski highly recommends] {buy}

The original of ‘Freeki Mutha F cker’, by Detroit legend Moodyman, possesses his trademark ambling and idiosyncratic structure, deep and yet unpredictable, beautiful and yet befuddling. Here New Zealand’s Choas In The CBD team up with their buddie Tom Lawson for a similarly slow jam but with some whip-lashed beats under those sleazy vocals for a more dancey take, with some of the original’s more jazzy, funky elements still faintly shimmering in the distance. Great remix:
