Begging For Gash

UK hip hop group Foreign Beggars played a storming live set at our idioteque night last year in York (the next idioteque is on 27th February and is headed by Trouble Vision and Smack & Tickle resident DJ Park Ranger (if you want any early-bird tickets buy them here)).

‘Hit That Gash’ is making a bit of a splash in the UK hip hop scene. Lyrically, it’s a little immature (or perhaps adolescent is a better word) but the rap-rhyming is certainly tasty. The lyrics don’t say much more than: I wanna hit that gash. I wanna have sex, lots of sex, even pay for sex. Yey, sex…! And iterated over and over. Chin-stroking hip-hop this isn’t. But it’s undeniably fun, and it’s the accompanying remixes that really impress. Buy the original here.
DJ Prime Cuts, winner of two consecutive ITF World Scratching titles, is one third of Scratch Perverts – the inventive DJ hip hop collective. Prime Cuts brings a frantic, dubstep remix: an onslaught of rib-crushing warbling, metalic bass and clanging percussive beats. Raucous, hyperactive… big on the dancefloor:
Totally Enourmous Extinct Dinosaurs serves up a bouncy, pulsing electro remix, retaining more of the original vocals:

you are so out of date dude. this came out about 5 months ago!

plus i was listening to audio bullys at the age of 12, i’m now 18…

anyone who’s into music surely knows who audio bullys are? and flickery vision ep came out fucking ages ago too.

    sweet blog.

  • Boosh

to the anonymous above me, I think you’re missing the point of Pelski’s blog. The way I see it Pelski has never actually claimed to have his finger so keenly on the pulse he falls into the bloghouse trap of posting “new” music regardless of quality.

The tunes Pelski posts have never been short of top quality, regardless of when they came out or how well known the artist was/is. I wouldn’t have known about the new path the audio bullys were taking with their music were it not for last week’s post.

I could care less how old the jams are, as long as they all sound good!

Ridiculously heavy tune, been looking for it since Foamo dropped it on his latest mixtape…

  • the ranger

If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it.
    Saying something like:

“plus i was listening to audio bullys at the age of 12, i’m now 18… “

Makes you come across as an idiot.

If I love Rusko and love this dubstep remix you posted here, does anyone have recommendations for me? I want to know more about dubstep, but I want stuff that would be more friendly to an electro fan.
