Darkly’s Downloads from 2009

Our boy Pelski has laid down a highly comprehensive list of bouncy beats at your leisure, with the hope that you will all go forth and spend all your Christmas dollar in the happy lands of beatport and boomkat. I for one have already lost a significant part of my Christmas fortunes to beatport, it seems that I get a nasty itch if I don’t press that flashing green download button every other day or so, does anyone else have this problem or is it genetic?

So just to make things worse for those pockets that are nearly empty, I thought I’d add a quick top 20 tracks of 2009. There is no particular order or favourite, each tune serves it’s purpose for a certain place and time, they just happen to be ones I just can’t leave alone. Apologies to all steppers, as this list is for the house heads and techno troops; I function on a 4×4 march rather than 2-step wobble, as I have enough trouble keeping my mental balance anyway. So hopefully there’s a few tunes here you haven’t heard before, and if you like em, make sure you by em too.
1. DJ Sprinkles – Grand Central Pt. 1 (Motor City Drum Ensemble Dub)

2. Vincenzo & Lovebirds – Electric Girl

3. Andrew Weatherall – All the Little Things (That Make Life Worth Leaving)

4. Extrawelt – Erste Unversicherte Allgemeinheit

5. The Dolphins – Fluo (Wehbba Mix)

6. Extrawelt – Mit Liese Auf Der Wiese (Max Cooper Edit)

7. Mark du Mosch – In the Clouds

8. Green Velvet & Kid Sister – Everybody wants

10. Renaissance Man – Spray Can

11. Popof – Faces ‘Uch

12. Tom Flynn – Zinga

13. Ripperton – Leonors Lanugo

14. Piemont – Shipyard

17. Burial & Fourtet – Moth

18. Alex Roots – Fake (Plugs Remix)

19. Black Strobe – Italian Fire Flies (Eskimo Twins Mix)

20. Animal Collective – My Girls

I’m sure I could rattle this list off for a while, but Pelski has already laid a windy route of sounds for you to map out, and I don’t want to send your GPS all over the blogosphere. It’s a shame they can’t be available for download, but putting money in their pockets assures us a load more. Hope you like the doodles.
