Everybody loves the sunshine

David Keno’s been getting a lot of attention recently, mostly thanks to ‘Upside Down’ on Riva Starr’s Snatch! imprint. My favourite stuff from Keno, however, is his collaborations with Jaxson. ‘Tout Le Temps’ and ‘Girls’ were two of my favourite EPs of 2009 and the recent ‘Right Here’ has a similarly simple, quirky approach to house music. Now he’s handing out a full quality copy of this great remix of Cassius’ classic:

A pulsating, thumping ode to Chicago house from Motor City Drum

Ensemble – a free giveaway as part of his playlist on the Hugo Boss website.

I can’t stop playing this one. An edit of Aloe Blacc soul drenched hip-hop number. Oliver $ speeds it right up and adds a rattling house kick. Thanks go to Jackmode for the download – incidentally, keep your eyes peeled for a Jackmode and Pelski Presents collab coming soon… with some VERY special guests lined up…

Roy Ayers’ classic gets a summery house reboot from Stinnj, injecting it with a little more pace whilst retaining the jazzy vibe and those sprightly piano keys. And, everyone does indeed love the sunshine (except, of course, us keyboard-bound bloggers):

This bootleg’s been getting a lot of love. Personally I don’t think it quite works, but, of course, The xx’s vocals are always welcome. And Jamie Jones’ smooth, sensual house ought to fit the soothing vocals, but it comes off sounding a little unsatisfying:

The XX – Crystalised (Jamie Jones’ Booty Mix)

Deadfish’s Camel has thrown out a whole track for free: a laid-back, deep and dubby tech-house affair with his usual tropical touches. ‘Smoking Trumpet’ is a little older: more chunky tribal tech-house, with minute vocal snippets thrown here and there:

Camel – Akin

The ever quirky French Horn Rebellion have remixed new wave duo OMD, with plenty of fizzing synths and 80s nostalgia:

ZDS have another chirpy track to throw your way- full to the brim with big drums and upbeat jazz samples. Be sure to buy their immensely fun King Kong EP:
