Fold, previously one half of deep house duo Homepark (releasing on Bliq, Third Strike and Ornate Music), has ventured into his first solo EP. Released on George Fitzgerald’s up and coming ManMakeMusic, we have a three-tracker that shows promise for the talented producer under a new guise.
First up, the young Londoner proves he knows how to work a dancefloor and build an atmosphere, delivering a great rhythm and some sharp stabs over clean hi-hats.
The flip ‘Moving Patterns’ edges into a deeper, slower vibe with vocals gliding over well-laid synths and a fierce bassline that is sure to get the heads nodding along nicely. On the remix, Ethyl adds a more techno feel to ‘Slime’ and again establishes himself as a talent that is often overlooked.
Judging by his first solo outing, Fold is a producer to keep an eye on.
