Meet Dark0, a North London Dubstep producer who’s been clambering his way to the top of my playlists. Inspired by the Final Fantasy scores, DOS Games and consoles of digital role play, Dark0 has taken his button bashing top scores from the arcade to the studio, and you’ll be happy to hear that it’s not resulted in your usual throw of linear movement Nintendo Pop. Dark0 cites the likes of Burial, Christine Vaccine, Kito, Helios, Scuba and Kryptic Minds as influences, so nod your head in this direction if your on this trip.
Dark0 a.k.a ‘Davor Bokhari’, has kindly melded us a few oceanic sine waves to giveaway and play. My particular favourite is ‘Goodbye Galaxy’, as not only is this a great name for a track, but the song itself manages to encapsulate you in a dizzy circle of arpeggiators throughout the duration. ‘Late Transmission’ is another assured weapon of choice, with floaty synth lines on the dancefloor roundabout.

Currently studying in Birmingham, Dark0 is jetset to join the armed forces at a later date – hats off to the soldier. You may catch him in the shady clublands of Birmingham if your lucky, but don’t expect to find him at your usual, and I quote Dark0 here, ‘filth head nights’ – couldn’t have put it better myself. However if your near the ‘Rainbow Gardens’ in Brum, look out for a local stepper who is akin to the darkness like myself, and be sure to bring your “rainbow rhythms” to the floor.
