Audio Bullys exploded on to the scene over six years ago with an excellent, inventive first album. In 2005, they released they’re second album soon after their Nancy Sinatra sampler ‘Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)’ blew up. The album was a dissapointment, ditching the heady mix of breaks and house of their first album for a more downbeat affair. They say pressure from the label comprimised the album.
No matter. They’re back now with a throng of remix-friendly bangers. Audio Bullys are a duo of
lads shouting about laddish laderry. Thick British accents and boisterous lyrics bellow out every-day geezer-esque activities, charting the sleezier side of nightlife “Get down the pub and find me some skirt….grab a couple of hunnies, crack a couple of funnies.” It is, to coin a phrase, lad-house or hooligan house. Brit-pop for those who can’t stand Oasis and Blur. For dance fans.

Their single Dope Fiend was released last month and you can pick it up here. They’re offering a free comic based on the narrative of Dope Fiend’s lyircs (involving lots of cocaine, ketamine and..’getting on it’). But it’s Tommie Sunshine and Udachi’s remix that really tears up the dancefloor. It whirrs, cuts up the vocals, with a grating, clanging noise, vergin on dubstep, and pushes a forceful house kick drum. Huge:
