The Good Natured’s ‘Be My Animal’ release is a very catchy affair, cutting straight to the core of decent and rounded pop credentials, which is what we should really be backing on the likes of Radio 1, rather than the likes of Usher. If you listen to the lyrics within the chorus, they mark a throwback to neanderthal love relations, which is a rather refreshing stance. I expect some of us if we had the chance would no doubt hunt those we desired like an animal, however such antics are considered to be rather uncouth these days, and may result in a rather long jail sentence. So listen and enjoy, but don’t be too literal, and refrain from ‘ripping & tearing down’ loved ones. Max Cooper’s quality remix is reminiscent of the 90′s glitch scene, spraying the vocals across a jittery rhythmic drum line. Keep em coming Mr. Cooper, we like what you do.

This Grand Crue remix is taken from Black Strobe’s new release dropping on Kitsune on the 6th of December. The original single track ‘Me & Madonna’ is an awesome re hash of all the best bits that make up 90′s electro-clash, combining sleaze and disco glitz in ample proportions. Look out for Blackstrobe’s matermind Arnaud Rebotini, who will be releasing a solo project and a brand new Blackstrobe album in 2011.

I’m a big supporter of Cubiq boys material, which I’m sure some of you may have realised already, having also put them in a mixtape I made for Jackmode recently. Their new track ‘Ideas’ strums a slightly warmer twang compared to previous productions, where they use their trademark voice dubs as cues for causing ripples like tamed ‘hand grenades’. Soon I’ll be introducing you to their band Wild Swim, where hopefully there’ll be freebies a plenty for you.
Through our recent interviews and rambles, there seems to be a recurrent nod towards emphasizing the importance of Hip Hop, not only as an influence but as pre-requisite to future careers and techniques… Round Table Knights anyone? Yet the Pelski towers often fail to shed light on this particular tempo, which is clearly responsible for sparking the brightest of lightbulbs. So with the re-emergence of experimental hip hop stronger than ever, as each new direction is built on top of another, it’s time to shift our thoughts towards recognizing some of these new wave pioneers. Over the next posts I’ll be hosting a variety of such sounds, so if you sling a club crunk, then watch this grill.
