Isaac Tichauer – Take Over You

Isaac-Tichauer-Take-Over-You-EP-960x540

French Express is a label that originated from fellow music blog Discodust. Leon Oziel (AKA Perseus) had been feeding Discodust with hot tips – the likes of Ellie Goulding, Azari III and Disclosure – back in ‘08. After he saw how the tracks were being received, he set up his own platform to showcase his favourite music – and French Express was born. You may recognise them already as the catalysts behind the anthem ‘So Good To Me’ by Chris Malinchak.

Here we have a five track EP from up-and-comer Isaac Tichauer. ‘Take Over You’ is on a soulful house tip and set the EP up nicely with a wistful, ringing vocal and a bassline reminiscent of Hot Since 82. The second track ‘To Fall In Love Is True’ rolls out chiming chords under some catchy female vocals. ‘Hypersensitive lover’ is the standout; it seems Isaac has a real knack for producing hooks and drops without over doing it, maintaining a laid back, seamless appeal. ‘This Trouble’ follows in a similar vein, whilst ‘Runaway’ slows the tempo down with a murky dub running under an array of snappy kicks and progressive chords, at times echoing  Kink’s and Neville Watson’s ‘Metropole’.

The best thing about this EP is that it’s all available for free download right now, so go cop it.
