Loving Paris

&ME is one of my favourite deep house and techno artists to have emerged in the last year or two. His consistently outstanding releases, such as ‘On’, ‘+++’ ‘F.I.R.’ and ‘Youth’, have graced a number of labels such as Keinemusik; he’s also produced various remix material for the likes of DJ T. and Adam Port. A while back, he set up a little project called Fet et Moi, a collaboration between himself and a Parisian producer called Fetisch. They released one 12″, the title track of which has has been floating around as an mp3.

It’s a minimalist take on acid house: acidic bleeps edge forward to the sound of a very familiar vocal sample (if I told you it was Justin Timberlake, would it put you off?) and some old school snare work, making for a brooding, strangely enchanting track. Highly addictive:

I’ve been playing this out for a while. Unfortunately, very few people get how cool this track is (and yes, most of them or put off by the JT sample).

I still like it a lot, though.
