Oi! Where’s myyyy Monkey?

It’s been a couple of weeks since Pelski layed down some dubstep…so here goes:

First, we have skittery beats and dark, ominous bass pervading a superb piece of dubstep from London newcomer Monkey. A strained diva vocal faintly echoes amidst antsy 2-step – I’m addicted to this track and thanks go to our hommies over at Chrome Kidsthe best grime/dubstep blog – for sending this one over a couple of weeks back.

Next up is a heavily hyped release from a South London up-and-comer, Deadboy. ‘U cheated’ is a stuttering 2-step gem, driven by a delicious r&b vocal and a subtle lick of UK Funky tribalism to the percussion:

This track pushes a soulful vibe with a swirling diva vocal snippet and bubbly low-slung garage bass and 2-step.
Sully – Phonebox [pelski highly recommends]

Bored of student dubstep DJs ending every set with Caspa’s ‘Where’s My Money’? Well this hilarious parody is for you, and funnily enough, taking the piss never sounded so good. Post-garage percussion skips around a comical rant about the state of the ‘monkey business’, before dropping into Jungle Book’s ‘I Wanna Be Like You’. It shouldn’t work, but it does:

Scuba has had an excellent year, and now he’s handed out his latest remix for free – and thanks go out to xlr8r for this one. The Hotflush boss brings more of those energetic 2-step beats, this time gently dancing around a bleak, humming soundscape of echoing sub bass:

Emika – Drop The Other (Scuba’s Vulpine Remix)
Joker brings his now trademark sawtooth bass to Riton and Primary 1′s follow up to their smash collaboration ‘Who’s There’. Buy the full release here.

Primary 1 & Riton – Radiates (Joker Remix)

Untold has had a big year t00, recently he dropped one of my highlights of the last few months, the weird and wonderful Gonna Work Out Fine EP. Below he remixes a quartet of female organ players from Manchester:
Sisters of Transistors – Solar Disco (Untold Remix)

Here Appleblim and Komonazmuk brings some ethereal dub-techno, with snapping hi-hats and driving bass. Also check out their collaboration on their remix of The Black Ghosts’ ‘Full Moon’:
