Pelski & Jackmode at Gottwood Festival 30th June – 3rd July

As I’m sure you know by now, Gottwood returns on the 30th June to triple in size. The small festival, nestled away in the Carreglwyd woodlands, this year boasts an absolutely stonking lineup including  Mr Scruff, Lee Foss, Jamie XX, A Guy Called Gerald, Jack Sparrow and Midland.

We’re very honoured to be hosting a Pelski vs Jackmode stage on the Saturday, headed by Round Table Knights, Monkey Safari and Matanza. A mainstay at Glastonbury, the stage itself is an inflatable dome with a wall of light boxes that are synced to the music – with the DJ playing in the middle – fitted with a booming Funktion 1.

Pelski vs Jackmode Stage, Saturday July 2nd
Round Table Knights (Made To Play)
Matanza (live) (Anabatic Records)
Monkey Safari (What! What!/ Monaberry)
Eldoko (What! What!)
Darkly (YCCMP)
Pelski (YCCMP)
Sharkbait (Yoghurt Warrior / Get Hype)
Timmy P (Groove On Records)

Our headliners ROUND TABLE KNIGHTS need no introduction; if you hit up any festivals last year then it’s pretty likely you that heard one of their colourful house bumpers – be it the steel drum banger ‘Calypso’ or gypsy-house anthem ‘Cut To The Top’. Informed by an impeccable and eclectic taste in house music, RTK are famed for their lively sets and on-point mixtapes:

El Guincho – Kalise (Round Table Knights Remix) [pelski highly recommends]

Round Table Knights – Say What feat Ogris Debris (Ogris Debris Version)

Round Table Knights – Say What? (Mat Cant Remix)

MATANZA’s famous live set incorporates a collection of South American instruments, including the Colombian ‘Gaita’, ‘Zampoñas’ (big pan flutes), Andean ‘Bombo’, the Dominican ‘Tambora’, bongos, bells and loads of others, mixed with thier laptops and midi controllers. Playing a truly organic version of house and techno, their set will undoubtedly prove to be one of the highlights of the festival. Watch the following video and snap up their flute dominated track Lutiva below:

Matanza – Lluvia [pelski highly recommends]

Matanza – Why No

MONKEY SAFARI have really come to the fore over last two years with their party-starting sounds. Their productions revolve around some cheeky soul-sampling – always inventive and fun – backed up by some serious tribalist house clout:

Monkey Safari – Stoned [pelski highly recommends]

Adam Port – Own (Monkey Safari Loves Adams Mickey Mix)

Also signed to What! What!, Gottwood head-honcho ELDOKO has a similarly tongue-in-cheek approach to his productions. Mischievous jazz and swing samples are the name of the game, underscored by chunky beats and bumpy tech-house rhythms:

Monkey Safari – Run Run Run (eLDOKO Remix)
[pelski highly recommends]

James Blake – CMYK (eLDOKO Remix)

James Copeland – What Is Jazz (eLDOKO Remix)

The lineup elsewhere includes: Mr Scruff, Lee Foss, Jamie XX, A Guy Called Gerald (Live,) The Correspondents (Live,) Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Zeds Dead, Phil Kieran (Live,) Lee Foss, Max Cooper (Live,) DJ Format & Friends, Chris Coco, Deadbeat, Perc, Mr Thing, Midland, Dark Sky, Dan Beaumont, Royalty, Itchy Feet DJ’s, Autophase, Ben Gomori, Schadenfreude + lots more…..
