It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything from Pelski favourite Solo (for those who missed it, check out his criminally underrated remix of The Heavy and as well as his recent Wiley re-rub). And now New York’s Nublu Records just dropped this gem into my inbox, a Solo remix of Ferro In The Dark’s ‘Perro Loco’ – seeing a full release on 23rd March. Solo brings his trademark thud of percussion, that borders on the tribal, interspersed with disco pads and an impossibly uplifting sax. Addictive listening:
I first caught wind of this track in a Four Tet chart, and, to my great surprise, the artist is giving it away as a freebie. A shrill wail of a vocal hook swirls and contorts amidst generous lashings of funky and jittery, erratic percussion. Beautiful experimental-indie-electronica Dan Snaith’s psych-pop project Caribou (formerly Manitoba). Keep your eyes peeled for the album ‘Swim’ is set to drop on April 20th, 2010. :
Caribou – Odessa [pelski highly recommends]
It seems TRG – garage/dubstep/electro artist, or perhaps best described as a general bass-smith – has inexplicably added ‘Cosmin’ to his original ‘TRG’ moniker. Here’s a lovely 2-step track he’s thrown to the blogs, positively drenched in a drudging mood, enforced by the forceful clunk of hollow 2-step beats. Be sure to buy his latest release ‘Now You Know‘.
