Sheffield’s Squire

Hailing from the birthplace of bassline – Sheffield – duo Squire of Gothos fuse womping speed garage with dubstep and house for bass-driven bangers. Wonky-bass don Kanji Kinetic has already snapped them up for his record label ‘Electrostimulation’ for recently released Rave Lord EP.

Their tunes are bizarre, grimey and strangely erratic; swinging from bubbly garage to pounding house beats in an instant. Their ‘Introsphere’ is currenlty a staple opener for many DJ sets. Starting off with an ominous, eerie lead-in, for the first two minutes elevating up and up, it finally drops into a satisfying thicket of warbling, pulsing basslines. ‘Sandpaper Ridim’ sees Squire of Gothos using chaotic clattering and grimey percussive beats to great effect alongside yet more oscillating bass. Grimey vocals start off ‘Triple Drop’, before the track succumbs to some tasty wavering and wobbly dubstep. ‘I Only Wanna Be With Bass’ begins with a cheesy pop sample – cut, chopped, contorted and swiftly dropped into a tumultuos sea of bassy noise.

A blog is something people rely on, if your taking up writing one you must dedicate your time to it.

Pelski dedicated his time to it, then people started following and he became popular, now he thinks he can jus not post anymore, fuck that.

Although I partly agree with anonymous that Pelski needs to post more, he should also bear in mind that last year Pelski had a whole year stuck at home doing fuck all and recovering from the car accident. The blog thrived. This year he’s studying for a degree, not employed yes, but still pretty busy. To say that he’s decided to sack it off now that he’s popular is absolute shit.

No doubt writing a blog is hard work and it takes a lot of time.
As much I would like to see more posts, i don’t believe anyone should be rude to Pelski. After all he writes the blog for free, you should be grateful that he does still bother posting! If you have any respect for the man, let pelski know that you would appreciate more posts and give and him some encouragement for fucks sake!
