"War, what is it gooood for?"

Everyone got all hot and bothered about this bootleg by Nat Self (one half of Zombie Disco Squad) last year when it surfaced in a couple of ZDS mixes. I waited with baited breath for a release, and then suddenly it made its way up onto beatport for a few days, but then was pulled back and never seen again… until Brendan over at Gosh Damn unearthed it (what I’m guessing happened – as it’s a bootleg of the late great Edwin Starr – is whoever holds the rights to the track kicked up a fuss once it was released, like Riva Starr’s bootleg of The Who).

It’s got that tropical-house vibe, minimal and bouncy, with techy blips set to the acapella of the famous Edwin Starr hit ‘War’. A cheeky bootleg that’s bound to put a spring in your step:

Nat Self – War [pelski highly recommends]

Nat Self’s remix of Dum was one of my favourite remixes of The Martin Brothers. I look forward to hearing his Camel remix dropping at some point; I almost prefer Nat Self’s solo outings to those with ZDS, even if they are few and far between. He’s also just produced a Teki Latex rap number – who’s decided to offer it up for free here.

Here’s Nat Self on a delicious tropical tech-house tip again (landed in my inbox a while ago, but I failed to post it):
