wax:on’s Eskimo Twins

Eskimo Twins are giving away their latest EP: I’ve got two 128s up for grabs, but if you want the 320s all you need to do is exchange them for a tweet here.

It’s a great release too – and continues their foray closer to techno territory, but with plenty of electro synths and dirty, crackling beats. These tracks remind me a bit of their energetic remix of Doorly’s ‘Toys’ (no, not the noisy brostep Doorly produces, but the actually quite good techno).

Droid’s the pick of the two for me, with its lurching build – all metallic drum beats and restrained pulses of bass – punctuated by intervals of screeching electro synths. It finishes with a satisfying interchange between raucous electro-tech growling and a smoother, punchy arrangement of beats.

Eskimo Twins – Droid [pelski highly recommends]

Judas opens with a patter and thud of techno beats, mutating into a driving, building momentum, surrounded by various clicks, clacks and electro fuzz, before swinging into a more disco-tech territory.

The Matt Walsh remix is also brilliant so make sure you pick this release up with a tweet or head to beatport.

the beginning of droid sounds like Monkey Aggression by The 2000. If the blatant copy wasn’t there I would be happier with the song
