Getting your low-end fix outside of a club may soon finally be possible in a way that keeps your neighbours happy.
A KickStarter campaign has started in the US with the hope of well and truly bringing the club experience into the home. SubPac is hoping to raise $75,000 to put its ‘Portable Tactile Audio Technology’ into production, which in effect is a kind of subwoofer that when placed behind the user’s back gives the visceral feel of standing in a club, without the intrusive level of noise.
The company believe this will bring an entirely new element not only to home listening in terms of music, but could also revolutionise sound design for computer games and home cinema systems.
There is already support from UK bass heavyweights such as Mala, Pinch and Kode9, so funding the SubPac is looking like a worthwhile investment.
