Daft Punk’s ‘self remixes’

daftpunk1If you’re sick to death of hearing about Daft Punk, well… tough. Because they will be remixing their own tracks from Random Access Memories over the coming months. But those disappointed with the album’s lack of an electronic beat can breathe a sigh of relief.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1′s Pete Tong at the start of the week, the pair said: “We’re working on some mixes ourselves. So, yes, there will probably be Daft Punk mixes of Daft Punk. Usually, we never mix ourselves, that’s something we feel we’re interested in doing this time.”

The first track Bangalter and de Homem-Christo will rework is ‘Get Lucky’ which, according to Bangalter, will be out by the end of June.

In other news, Liam Gallagher in his eternally eloquent style has given his two cents on Daft Punk’s chart-topping ‘Get Lucky’: “I’d write that in a f***ing hour. I don’t know what the fuss is about, you know what I mean? It’s like f**k off, give me a f**king break.”

Charming.
